What Is the Full Name Generator?
The full name generator builds random names from the most common first names and surnames published by official statistics offices, so every result is a name real people actually carry.
How to Use the Full Name Generator
- Set a gender: male, female, or random (decided separately for every name).
- Pick a country: choose a country of origin or leave it on random.
- Choose the type: a full name, only a first name, or only a last name.
- Enter the quantity: up to 1,000 names per batch.
- Generate: click the button (or press Space). Copy a single name or the whole list, download it as a text, spreadsheet (.csv) or JSON file, or share a link that keeps your options.
Click the star to save the names you like: they are kept in your browser and listed under the star at the top of every page. Featured view shows one name in large type with its characters, readings and meanings, and can save it as an image card.
Under More options, turn on Separate name/surname origins to mix cultures, for example an Italian first name with a Swedish surname. Names written in Korean, Chinese (China and Taiwan), Hebrew or Kazakh Cyrillic can be shown with a Latin transcription using Romanize. For Chinese names you can also choose a classic or modern name style and the number of characters.
Why Use the Full Name Generator?
Random but realistic names are useful whenever you need a believable identity without using someone you know.
- Character creation: name the cast of novels, comics, screenplays, tabletop campaigns and video games.
- Online privacy: get a neutral name for a forum, a test account or a chat room instead of sharing your own.
